Artist’s Illustrations Remind Us To Appreciate The ‘Little Moments’ With Our Dogs
Often times our love for our dogs outweighs any words that we might be able to use to describe our affections for them. They radiate pure joy and bring immense amounts of happiness. Everyone who’s ever had a dog knows this.
Yaoyao Ma Van As, an LA-based artist has managed to perfectly capture the love between dog and owner in her series of amazing illustrations on Instagram. The colorful and adorable pictures definitely create wonderfully relatable day-to-day situations of what it’s like to have a canine companion.
While Van Ma As is happily married and lives with her husband, most of her drawings depict a single life with her dog, Parker.
As she told the Huffington Post, “Living alone isn’t as scary as it seems! Yes, there were definitely times that it sucked, but there were also countless amazing moments as well. It’s knowing that you’re on your own, and each decision you make is directly affecting how you move forward with your life. Each day you learn to be more independent than the day before. It’s definitely an experience that should be embraced.”

The stories that Ma Van As depicts are something that is familiar to us all. They show the ups and downs of living with a pet dog. While many of the drawings are showing the small moments that we might take for granted. However, these are the times that we usually miss most once our furry friends have passed on.
She illustrates them in such a way, it makes you want to go give your dog a hug.
While Ma Van As is best known for her Instagram page where she posts her illustrations, she still has quite the impressive resume featuring work for Disney TV Animation, Rick & Morty, and Warner Brothers Animation, among others.
Her dog Parker is a little Chihuahua/Cocker Spaniel mix that she adopted four years ago.
While he doesn’t always appear in every drawing, he definitely adds to the magic of her illustrations when he does.
