Weatherman Goes Viral For Having A Tiny Custom-Made Couch For His Dog
I work from home on a daily basis – even before this pandemic. But for some people, this has become a new routine that they’ve had to get adjusted to, thanks to the current global pandemic. Working from home definitely comes with its struggles, such as forcing yourself to wear clothes other than pajamas and having the willpower to avoid eating all your quarantine snacky snacks in one sitting. However, if you are the proud parent of a little pet, you face a whole new dilemma. Our pets might be cute, but they’re Grade A distractions.
And if you’re in the public eye and working from home, then your pets may just be a distraction for other people, as one Dallas-Fort Worth-based weatherman found out. The man was working from home when he discovered just how much people enjoyed seeing his set up for his dog in the background.
A Reddit photo went viral via Twitter, showing KDFW Fox 4 meteorologist Evan Andrews proudly showing off his dog, Penny, who was lounging on a small dog couch, complete with a bone-shaped pillow. It was absolutely precious!
Andrews spoke to Newsweek and said, “Considering everything going on in the world nowadays, this is about the best news that’s on the news every day. I just let [my pets] roam freely in the background.”
The Reddit post of Andrew’s adorable pup received 40,000 upvotes. In addition, there were tons of comments which appreciated the choice of canine furniture.

The Reddit user who originally posted it called it the “best thing I have seen on tv,” in addition to the “best thing I saw on fox 4.”
While many people loved the post, there were others who were more interested in Penny’s furniture – with some online sleuths already pointing out there Petco has some very similar designs and styles available.
Andrews also added, “The couch has a story, though, and it’s legitimate, because I don’t think I would ever spend that much money on a couch. But my wife just had a birthday, and her aunt bought it for her birthday. We got the couch about the same day we all started working from home. As soon as I got the couch, the dogs fell in love with it. I’m like, ‘I’m putting it in the back of the shot,’ because everybody’s got their Emmy’s in the background. So I’m putting the couch.”
On Twitter, the comments were nonstop, and one person even joking, “Evan, Your dog has the life I want.”
Andrews doesn’t just have Penny, he also has two other dogs, two cats, and a tortoise – all of whom are constantly being shared on his Twitter.
In fact, prior to his recent viral post, Andrews shared a photo of Frederick, his tortoise, writing, “Best part of WFH? Sharing the family farm! Frederick is a hit.”

He regularly posts his “morning WFH crew,” which consists of his dogs and cats. Of course, who wouldn’t want to work with a crew this cute? His pets have been a part of his reporting as well, helping him deliver some rainy day forecasts through a family picture curled up in bed.
