Avalanche Rescue Dog Has The Time Of His Life While Sliding Down The Slippery Slopes

Although Spring is right around the corner, many places are still getting hit with snow storms. While snow can be an inconvenience for people, one dog named Truckee is loving every second of it!

Truckee, a six-year-old black lab, is part of Heavenly Mountain’s Avalanche Rescue Dog Program at Lake Tahoe.

When he isn’t patrolling the mountain and rescuing people in the snow, he’s playing in it! Truckee enjoys sliding down the mountain in the snow, and was recently caught on camera by ski patroller Chris Child, having the time of his life.

Truckee has been working hard this winter, as 37 feet of snow fell in South Lake Tahoe so far just since January. The Heavenly Mountain’s avalanche dogs are an energetic and loyal group of dogs who are trained to locate and rescue victims in case of emergency.
