Luxury Hotel Gives Shelter Dogs A ‘Spa Day’ And A Roast Dinner

Every now and again, we can all do with a spa day. It’s just something that helps us de-stress and forget about our troubles for a while – and no one needs that more than the homeless dogs in the shelter. They need a bit of pampering in their life too. And that is just what some shelter dogs got after a Cotswolds hotel opened up their premises to dogs in order to give them a dash of the luxurious lifestyle.

The Georgian manor house hotel called Tewkesbury Park, partnered with Cheltenham Animal Shelter in order to give three shelter dogs a fun-filled experience. 16-year-old Kolo, 9-year-old Tinkerbell, and 1-year-old Oreo were transported from their Gardners Lane shelter in Cheltenham to Tewkesbury Park with their caretakers in order to enjoy their day.

The Tewkesbury Park hotel was recently named Best for Furry Friends in the Conde Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2020. It arranged for the dogs to enjoy their day as guests, beginning with a delicious roast dinner in the Piano Lounge. After their indulgent feast, the three dogs were given free rein of the hotel’s 164 acres of grounds – plenty for them to explore. After their outdoor adventure, the three pups were given a golf buggy ride back to the hotel in order to enjoy the hotel’s dog-friendly accommodation for a luxurious nap.

All the rooms at the hotel are packed with memory foam dog beds, bowls, dog towels, and treats, so they make the perfect getaways for all owners and dogs. The rooms even have patio doors that open up directly to the Gloucestershire countryside for plenty of fun outside.

As the general manager for Cheltenham Animal Shelter, Peter Newcombe shared, “Kolo, Tinkerbell and Oreo had a thoroughly enjoyable day out at Tewkesbury Park.”

He added, “It was a wonderful opportunity for them to spend time out of the shelter and have some fun together in new surroundings. As older dogs who need to be rehomed together, Kolo and Tinkerbell have been with us a little while, so it was especially nice for them to have an adventure and to meet new people, we’re very grateful to Tewkesbury Park for spoiling them.”

The trio are just the first of many shelter dogs who will be treated to the life of luxury at Tewkesbury Park, as they have partnered with Cheltenham Animal Shelter to make these outings a regular program. So, from now on, the Tewkesbury Park hotel will be welcoming shelter dogs from Cheltenham and treating them to a roast dinner, a long stroll around the grounds, and some much-needed rest and relaxation in comfy beds.
