Pig Being Sold For His Meat Was Bought For $60, But For A Much Better Reason

As time passed, Sunday grew bigger and bigger. He began to outgrow the yard, so Sutton and Vega would take him across the street to the park so he would have more space to run around. Since the street was too hot for his hooves, they’d carry him. It was when they were at the park that they found out that pigs weren’t allowed in residential areas there.

Eventually, Sunday grew so big that he was too heavy to lift. Instead of carrying him across the street, they bought a station wagon equipped with a ramp for Sunday. They knew it was a real possibility that Sunday could be taken away from them, and that is a reality that they never wanted to come true.

So, instead of putting him up for adoption like many people would, Sutton and Vega knew exactly what they needed to do. They moved to a country farmhouse outside of Gloucester to better accommodate Sunday. “It “as a lot of work and financially straining to move,” Sutton told The Dodo, “but Sunday had a home where he could be free, and that was important to us.”

Sunday is now enjoying his new life at the farm. He has come a long way from the filthy little cage that he was stuck in. Now he has a loving family and gets to be free and live a long and happy life! You can follow Sunday’s adventures on his Facebook page.

Pigs are cute but they aren’t for everyone. Many people buy pigs to keep as pets thinking they are “micro” and will stay tiny. The pigs that are advertised as micro or mini, realistically grow to be upwards of 200-300 pounds. Make sure you do your research before buying a pig, or any animal!
