What’s Better Than Adopting A Pet? Adopting 7! This Little Rescue Family Is As Cute As They Come!
There are tons of animals in shelters all across the world who are waiting for someone to love them and give them a furever home. This is why it’s so important to adopt rather than shop. But what’s better than adopting an animal? Adopting seven! Kasey Boggs and her husband did just that, and now have four dogs, one cat, and two ducks. Each one came to them at different times, but they all get along great and are now one close-knit family!
Boggs began adopting animals when she was just 19 years old. Her first addition was her dog Roxy. Roxy now has doggy siblings Edith, Rose and Jake, cat Mia, and ducks Gertrude and Donald.
The eclectic little family is inseparable. They go for hikes with their humans, snuggle on the couch, and lounge in the sun together. But their lives weren’t always so happy.
Roxy was rescued from a puppy mill, and is missing a hip joint. Mia the cat was saved from a high-kill shelter and is missing a tail. Edith was rescued from an alley and was very sick. Rose was saved from a bad neighborhood and had a broken leg. Jake has an incurable health condition, but acts just like any other dog.
I rescue to save souls,” Boggs told Little Things, “which in turn saves a part of me I never knew needed saving.” She said that each pet inspires her in a different way depending in their personalities and the things they’ve overcome. “Roxy gives me peace. Mia reminds me to be open-minded and not cast judgment. Edith gives me life, the fire within me. Rose gives me determination, and Jake gives me patience, reminds me to slow down.”
The two ducks were the most recent additions to her family. Believe it or not, the two of them fit right in, and the rest of the clan loves them!
They always sit still for portraits, and even have matching accessories! And they have some paw-some news to share. In January 2017, they’re welcoming a new family member to their clan…and this time, it’s a human!!
