Army Veteran Waited 18 Months For A Service Dog, Then He Was Surprised With One At A Knicks Game

Luciano Yulfo, a retired sergeant first class in the U.S. Army, has waited a year and a half for a service dog. He suffered permanent injuries in the line of duty in 2014, and has been wanting a service dog to help him with his day to day life.

He was the guest of honor at the New York Knicks game on Wednesday, where he was being recognized for his 36 years of service. But little did he know, his year and a half long wait was about to come to an end.

During the ceremony, he received a personalized basketball jersey and got a round of applause from the crowd. Then walked out his new best friend and service dog, Murph. Murph was just as equally as excited to see Yulfo, as Yulfo was to see him. In the video below, you’ll see Murph being loving and playful and bringing a huge smile to Yulfo’s face.
