19-Year-Old Black Cat’s Unique Coat Grows More Gorgeous As The Years Ago By
Born in 1997 from a litter of five, Scrappy the cat was once all black. But now at 19, his dark coat has turned into one with snowflake like markings.
These white markings began to appear when he was seven years old. The older he got, the more spots there were, causing a unique pattern that is rarely seen in cats.
His unusual hair color is due to vitiligo. Vitiligo is a skin condition that has been see in cats as a genetic disease. It can affect their coats in various patterns and Scrappy is exhibiting the snowflake pattern. It does not affect his health or quality of life.
Although Scrappy is 19 years old, he is still a kitten at heart. He loves spending quality time with his human dad and grandma.
He also has two rescue kitty sisters named Lily and Rose who are just over a year old. He gets along great with them and they love to play together.
Aside from playing Scrappy also loves napping under the warm sun in the backyard.
Scrappy is still a very healthy cat and is very active. He grows wiser with age, and also more beautiful!
