Tampa Bay Photographers Encourage People To Donate To Local Humane Society By Offering Safer at Home Portrait Project

We are all facing challenging and uncertain times, but together we can get through this. Tampa Bay photographers decided to use their downtime and talents to help shelter pets in need.

Adam and Mary Goldberg, owners of AGoldPhoto Pet Photography, decided to capture this unprecedented moment in history with photos of people safe at home on their front porches with their quarantine buddies.

The couple created the Safer at Home Portrait Project to offer support to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. While the initial idea is not unique to them, they wanted to add their own spin on it.

“Our hope is that the project will bring happiness and joy during this difficult time, as well as support Humane Society of Tampa Bay during the Safer at Home Order imposed by Hillsborough County,” posted the couple on their website.

For a minimum donation of $50 to the Humane Society Tampa Bay, a family received a photoshoot in their front yard or front porch, with the photographers keeping the proper social distance. Children and pets were encouraged but not required for the photoshoot.

People were asked to signup on their website, but registration has closed. The couple was only able to offer the Safer at Home Portrait Project to people in Tampa Bay due to the stay at home order, but had no problem finding families to signup.

The photos were posted to AGoldPhoto Pet Photography’s Facebook and Instagram account and emailed to the families a few days after the shoot. The photos made the day of not only the families in them but many others who viewed them.

One adorable photo was captioned, “Hey! Your teef are showing!” The photographers posted that they had 50 families sign up. Be sure to follow them on Facebook to see all the family photos.

Their followers loved the idea and one wrote, ” I just love this idea! Definitely a moment in time to document. And there is no better way than with your fur legged family member(s)! Expresses what’s important in life.” Another said, “Someone put their thinking cap on!💜”

Giving back has always been and will continue to be a focus for AGoldPhoto Pet Photography. Humane Society Tampa Bay holds a special place in their hearts because that is where the couple met and their journey started. “2020 has seen a lot of cancellations and postponements, but love, emotion and philanthropy are here to stay!”
