This Neglected Rottweiler Lost All Four Of His Limbs Due To Frost Bite. Now, Watch His Feet!

Brutus the Rottweiler did not have it easy as a puppy. His neglectful former owners, dog breeders, left him outside in the freezing cold, and he wound up getting frost bite on all four of his paws. Instead of taking him to the vet, they took it upon themselves and amputated all of his paws themselves. Brutus was no longer able to get around on his own, or be a normal puppy. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending.

Brutus was eventually rehomed with his foster mom Laura Aquilina in Loveland, Colorado. And although he was finally given the love he deserved, it still didn’t help his other problems and could still barely walk. He had to be carried up and down stairs and over hard surfaces. A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for him to get corrective surgery. Within months, hundreds of people donated more than $12,000 toward the surgery and new prosthetics made specially for him.

Martin Kauffman, founder of OrthoPets, a Denver-based company that specializes in prosthetics for animals, thankfully was able to help Brutus. They created prosthetics for all four limbs, making him just the second quadruple amputee dog to be helped by these kind of devices. Now Brutus can finally walk again and act like a normal dog! I’m so happy for him!! Watch him in the video below as he walks around with his new legs!
