When A Foster Took In A Dying Cat, She Thought It’d Be For Hospice. But The Cat Proved Her Wrong
A cat named Raggedy Ann was 14 years old, but weighed the same as a four-month-old kitten. It’s a miracle that she even survived, but her resiliency and her will to live helped her pull through!
The poor cat weighed just 3 pounds and 15 ounces when she arrived at Saving One Life, a rescue group in Chandler, Arizona.
The cat was rescued by a local Humane Society from a really bad hoarding situation; she was living in a double-wide mobile home with 40 other cats and 2 dogs, all whom were clearly neglected.
They were afraid that little Ann wouldn’t make it, so they posted a photo of her, desperately trying to find a rescue to take her in. That’s when Saving One Life knew they had to help.
Staff at Saving One Life worked round the clock to take care of Raggedy Ann. She ate kitten wet food mixed with warm water, so it’d be easy for her body to digest. Each day that passed, she’d gain more and more ounces.
She was extremely weak and could barely lift her head up due to muscle loss. They set up a warm, heated bed to make her feel more comfortable.
