2 Months After Cancer Diagnosis, Pistachio’s Dream Comes True

Pistachio has plenty of reason to feel down. After being dropped off at an animal shelter in Ohio,
He was treated for a inguinal hernia. During the surgery, a veterinarian found another mass, which turned out to be lymphoma.

The Beagle spent the following two months at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter, but they’ve likely been the best two months of his life, so far. While undergoing chemotherapy, Pistachio got to meet Snoop Dogg, made an appearance on the Hallmark Channel, and got plenty of playtime with new friends.

For Halloween, the shelter dressed Pistachio up as Eeyore, though his happiness couldn’t keep from shining through.

Pistachio has a tough road ahead. It won’t be easy battling cancer, but he’s not alone. In fact, one of his biggest dreams has come true.

Even Snoop Dogg came to meet Pistachio!


According to the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter Facebook page, Pistachio was adopted into a loving home, with a new mother and a big sister.

Pistachio’s new human will bring him to his chemotherapy treatments as we as help him adjust to a relaxing life at home. But, he assured his fans on Facebook that he would never forget about them.

“I think I’m going to take a break from the spotlight and start enjoying the simple things,” the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter’s post from Pistachio reads. “I’ll try and keep in touch now and then, but if you don’t hear from me, just know I’m out there living my best life with my new family.
