This Woman Rescued A One-Eyed Cat. But What Happened Next Was Completely Unexpected…Ashley Maisano
This black and white Persian cat, named Grape, is not your ordinary cat; he only has one eye and his story is very inspiring. He was brought to East Bay SPCA in October 2012 with his left eye dead and sticking out of its socket. They got him taken care of and had his eye removed immediately.
After his surgery, he stopped eating and the doctor was very concerned about weight loss. Since he needed extra care, Amber Ybarra, a veterinary technician at East Bay SPCA, brought Grape home to foster him. It wound up being what they call a “foster fail,” and her house became his furever home! Ybarra loved the responsibility and says that Grape brought out the more nurturing side of her that she always wanted to make use of.
