You my not know any dogs at the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, but you can watch them sleep.

That’s one of the reasons why Old Friends is so popular. More than 1.8 million followers on Facebook and over 103,000 on Instagram support the non-profit sanctuary. Some have even created fan pages for the many dogs the sanctuary has helped over the years.

According to WREG, Old Friends has cared for at least 700 canines since it opened in 2012. At any time, visitors to Old Friends social media feeds can find live streaming video of more than 100 dogs as are fed, cared for, and play around.

Old Friends’ followers are delighted with the videos and images showing the dogs who arrive at the sanctuary, elderly and often neglected, but able to finally experience freedom and love. They’re not shy about expressing themselves, either.

“There is a whole lot of fluff here that I want to be a part of,” wrote one darakraniak, referring to a deck dog party.

“I LOVE HIM. I’D DIE FOR HIM PLEASE KISS HIS PRECIOUS LITTLE HEAD FOR ME!!!” exclaimed fressah, obviously obsessed with a dog dressed up in a bear sweater.

Of course, many of Old Friends’ residents reach the end of their lives at the sanctuary. When it’s their turn to cross the rainbow road, the facilities friends are just as apt to share their sentiments.

“To have that companionship and love until the last breathe is what every dog deserves. Thank you for that gift to your gang!” wrote bevrose43 after the passing of Border Collie Simba.

Some human friends of OFSDS have even created their own fan pages for the dogs there. When a pug named Mildred passed, supporters worked together to memorialize her “run for the presidency” in 2016.
