This Man Saved A Lizard And Mouse From Drowning. Then, They Stuck Around To Thank Him.Ashley Maisano
Levi DeWitt was volunteering in Bolivia when he noticed a mouse and a lizard drowning in a swimming pool. The pool was somewhat drained, but the water level was too low for them to get over the cement side.
DeWitt acted quickly, knowing he had to rescue these little guys. He held out a coconut branch into the water, allowing the mouse and lizard to hop onto it. When they did, he brought them up to safety.
You would think that these little wild animals would scurry off as soon as he placed them back down, but they didn’t. Both the mouse and the lizard sat with DeWitt. He assumed they were just in shock and would run off as soon as they caught their breath, but that wasn’t the case.
DeWitt got closer and tried petting them, and they hopped onto his hand and ran up and down his arms for a bit.
Instead of running away, but animals stuck around as if they were saying thank you to the man who saved their lives. They hung out a little while longer before eventually scurrying off.
