Mom And Son Dog Pair That Were Hoping To Find A Home On Mother’s Day Got Adopted
Queen and Freddy, the adorable mother-son duo on the hunt for a forever home, have finally been adopted!
The Washington DC rescue, Homeward Trails, had been frantically searching for a forever home for the pair after they were plucked from a shelter where they’d spent eight months. Their story had been shared in an attempt to get them adopted out together in time for Mother’s Day. And thankfully, it paid off. They found a home together – the rescue was very insistent that they be re-homed together.
Homeward Trails happily announced the news in an update, saying, “We are happy to report that Freddy and Queen were adopted by a retired Marine and his wife in Northern Virginia. The couple had recently lost their Labrador after nearly 13 years and were seeking an opportunity to rescue a dog – or two!”
They even included a photo of the 10-year-old Queen, and 4-year-old Freddy, already making themselves at home in their new backyard.
The rescue added, “Freddy and Queen love their new backyard and are settling into their new home nicely. The new parents want to thank Homeward Trails for and their amazing network of foster care professionals for bringing Freddy and Queen into their lives and for such a smooth adoption process. We are so grateful Freddy and Queen found their forever home!”
The mother and son are now going to be able to live happy lives together, cuddling and napping and just enjoying their time together. And that makes us so happy for them!
