A Man Was Chopping Down A Dead Tree. When He Heard Crying From Inside, He Found The Unthinkable.

When a Portland man named Andy was cutting down a dead tree, he didn’t know that a mama squirrel and her babies were living there. When the tree fell, the mom took off, leaving her baby behind. Since he no longer had his mom, Andy took the baby squirrel, later named Merl, home to take care of him.

He fed him goat’s milk, and later spoke to the Humane Society, but after they said they’d euthanize him, he decided to keep him. His plan was to build him a tree fort and raise him to be able to survive outdoors on his own. You can tell that the bond these two share are very special. Just look at how the squirrel climbs all over Andy, it’s adorable!!
