A Man Saw A Dog Drowning In A Canal. Then, He Broke The Rules To Save Him…Ashley Maisano
A man named Sarwan Singh, of Punjab, India, was driving when he saw a group of men pointing towards an irrigation canal. He stopped his car and went over to see what was happening. That’s when he noticed a drowning dog, and was shocked to see that no one was actually helping. Singh doesn’t know how to swim, but he knew he had to find a way to save the dog.
So, he took off his turban and wrapped it around the pup to use it to pull him ashore. A symbolic part of the Sikh identity, turbans are not typically removed outside the home, but Singh knew he had to make an exception. “People thought I was disrespecting my faith,” Singh told Metro. “But what was important at that point was to save the animal’s life.”
Singh successfully pulled him out of the water with his turban, and the dog seemed relieved. He was exhausted and took a few minutes to catch his breath. He was afraid, but eventually ate some biscuits and then went on his way. Watch the awesome rescue below:
