Man Drives Across The Country To Reunite A Terminally Ill Woman With Her Dog
How far would you go to reunite a terminally ill woman with her dog? For one man in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 1,500 miles was not too far.
The dog’s owner was terminally ill and had to go to Washington state. She tried to board the plane with Bailey, her dog but she was told that the animal couldn’t fly because of health issues associated with his breed.
As a pug, Bailey is susceptible to breathing problems in the air. They dropped Bailey off at a veterinarian.
When Ryan Chukuske heard about what happened, he knew he had to step in and help. He’s a volunteer with ‘Spots Last Stop Canine Rescue’ and he decided to make the drive.

Chuckuske told WCCO said that he tries to be good to people because he knows they will be good to him.

“I didn’t hesitate. I just think it was one of those things where everyone deserves good things to happen to them regardless of where you’re at in life, and especially maybe at the end of your life. So if having your dog with you is what is really important to and for you, then I am going to make that happen,” he said.
Everything is being paid for out of his own pocket, including the car rental, the flight home, hotel, and gas. His wife started a GoFundMe to help with the costs.
