This Flashy Gadget Is The Toy Fat Cats Have Been Waiting For
Keeping indoor cats at a healthy weight is of constant concern for cat owners. Unlike dogs, cats don’t require regular exercise, which makes them ideal for busy professionals but also more apt to pile on the pounds.
That’s why South Korea’s Pet Ding developed this novel idea to help keep your cat on a healthy track – literally – with a feline-focused treadmill. The seemingly space age-inspired gadget, LittleCat, looks like a huge hamster wheel, but promoters swear it’s the best guarantee of your cat’s physical and mental health.

This isn’t the first feline-forward treadmill on the market, but it is the first – again, literally — to throw in extra bells and whistles, including a padded track, to keep this notoriously fickle animal comfy and engaged.
If your fat cat’s not taken by the LED lights running the length of the wheel, makers are betting that Fluffy will be tickled by pre-recorded missives from his or her owner. Meanwhile, owners can remotely control the speed, difficulty, and timing of their animal’s new exercise routine on a corresponding app, which also includes a calorie-tracker to help gauge every pets’ progress.

None of this comes cheap – the LittleCat, which debuted at Las Vegas’s consumer electronics show 2019, will start retailing in March for $1800, but makers are hoping cat lovers will find this 21st century contraption a worthy investment into their animal’s future well-being.
