Landscaper Hears Sounds Coming From Inside A Bulldozer, Then Finds 7 Tiny Miracles Trapped Inside
Landscapers at Green Forest Landscaping were mowing lawns in Draper, Utah, on August 9th, when all of a sudden they heard tiny noises coming from a nearby “CAT.”
The 31-year-old owner of the company, Jose Arias, got closer to the bulldozer and realized that the sounds were meows. He peeked through a small hole on the side of the bulldozer and saw multiple tiny kittens inside.
Jose, with the help of his coworkers, began taking apart the front end of the machine with tools to get them out as quickly as possible. Once they got it opened twenty minutes later, they discovered six little three-week-old kittens inside. The poor kittens were very skinny and starving and the landscapers knew they had to get them help immediately.
They then contacted Ashley Valley Community Cats, a local cat rescue in Vernal, Utah, who agreed to take in the cats. Jose brought the kittens home with him, until a member from the rescue could pick them up.
They thought their good deed was done, but little did they know that they were in for another surprise the next day. Jose’s brother wound up hearing more meows coming from the bulldozer. There was one more kitten left! They’re unsure how they missed it the day before, but they suspect the mother may have put the seventh kitten inside after they already rescued the others. They saved that kitten as well, and he joined his kitty siblings at the rescue.
The landscapers were baffled at how the kittens got into the bulldozer in the first place. They had never taken the cab off of the machine, but when they did, they saw there was about nine inches of space at the bottom of the machine, which made it a good spot for them.
Seven newborn kittens meant there was a mama cat somewhere in the area. Luckily, the rescue was able to find the kittens’ mom and catch her. They then brought her back to their rescue to reunite with her kittens. The rescue is taking such great care of all of the cats. They are all gaining weight and eating great.
Volunteers at the rescue have named the litter after character from Lord of the Rings: Sauron, Smaug, Gollum, Legolas, Arwen, Gandalf and Galadriel.
Once the kittens are weaned and them and their mom are spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, they will be put up for adoption. A few of them have already been pre-adopted! They are adorable, so we know the rest of them won’t have a hard time finding homes as well!
