How can I tell my dog needs a bath?
Dogs should be bathed regularly to keep their coats and skin healthy and looking good. Going too long without a bath can leave a dog smelling bad, looking dingy, and developing dry skin or other conditions. Most dogs are outside frequently, love to play in dirty things, and get petted often. Their coats need to be cleaned in order to keep them smelling and looking good.
Most shorthaired dogs need to be bathed at least once a month. Longhaired dogs and dogs that do not shed frequently may need to be bathed more often. Regular brushing is a great way to keep your dog’s coat looking healthy and clean in between baths. If a dog has rolled in something smelly, been playing in a dirty area, or has a coat that starts to look dull or tangled, it is probably time to give the dog a bath.
