Therapy Dogs Who Help Comfort Children Patients At Hospital Get Married In Adorable Ceremony
Hope and Hunter are Golden Retriever therapy dogs who help comfort the young patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Being in a hospital can be a frightening experience for children, but Hope and Hunter are there to help bring smiles to their faces and do a great job at it!
The two pups have always been considered girlfriend and boyfriend at the hospital, so staff thought it was finally time for them to tie the knot.
Donning a white wedding gown and vail, Hope married Hunter, who was wearing a tuxedo and collar. The ceremony took place in Lisa Barth Chapel in front of staff and several children patients.
Jake Jaconson performed the ceremony and started out by saying: “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate Hope and Hunter. Before these witnesses, Hunter takes Hope to be his lawfully wedded doggie bride; they bow-vow to love each other, share their banana and peanut butter together, today, tomorrow and forever.”
They then exchanged collars and were pronounced doggy husband and doggy wife. Hunter even gave his new bride some licks and kisses! The two of them even got a dog-friendly wedding cake to celebrate with.
