Go Raw Recalls Cat Food Due To Salmonella Risk

On November, 14, 2019, Go Raw, LLC, of Cottonwood Utah issued a recall of its 2lb. frozen bags of “Quest Beef Cat Food”.

Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is a risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.

Salmonella has been the cause of multiple recalls last year.

What Is Recalled?

2lb. frozen bags
UPC 6-91730-17101-8, Lot N128.

Testing by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture found salmonella in the food, which led to the recall. No illnesses have been reported but the company decided to issue a voluntary recall to be safe.

Symptoms Of Salmonella In Pets

– lethargy
– diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
– fever
– vomiting
– decreased appetite
– abdominal pain

Pets that are infected can be carriers and pass it on to other animals and humans. If you have fed any of the recalled product and your pet is showing any of the above symptoms, call your vet immediately.

If you have purchased this food and the lot number matches the recall stop feeding immediately.

Consumers who have purchased 2lb. bags of Quest Beef Cat Food are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
