Paralyzed Dog Starred In The PuppyBowl. When A Couple Saw Him, They Knew He Was Their Perfect MatchFamilyPet
While Football fans settled down to watch Super Bowl LI, millions of pet lovers tuned in to Animal Planet to watch “Puppy Bowl XIII”.
And one pet in the adorable lineup struck the eyes of a Pennsylvania couple.
Kathy and Jason DiPrinzio of Norristown, Pennsylvania, were watching their Super Bowl Sunday staple when Francis and his foster sister Wilma came running onto the field.
Francis is a one-year-old German Shepherd and Rottweiler-Chow-Chow Mix with paralyzed hind legs. He was one of many pets looking for a new home from New Life Animal Rescue, based in Marlton, NJ.
Francis was separated from his mother at four weeks old because his legs were paralyzed, and he was scheduled to be euthanized the day that New Life rescued him.
The DiPrinzios were only about an hour and a half away from the Shelter and knew that Francis would be a perfect fit for their home, after losing their 14-year-old Dachshund a month prior.
After the adoption, the Diprinzios created a Facebook page called Francis will Walk, updating all of Francis’ friends on his health status, including limited movement in his hind legs!
The power of television helped complete the dream for Francis and many of his puppy bowl friends. It truly is remarkable to see a dog almost lose its life, to living the lap of luxury.
