Ford Designed A Noise-Cancelling Dog House For Anxious Pups
The holidays can be fun for humans, but they can also be a terrifying situation for dogs. The sound and vibrations can be extremely stressful. This is why Ford decided to design a noise-canceling dog house so that anxious dogs have a place to feel at ease.
This state-of-the-art kennel has noise-dampening cork panels, an automatic door, and utilizes the same noise control technology found in the Ford Edge SUV.

The kennel detects high levels of noise with built-in microphones and then emits opposite frequencies to cancel them out: “We wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could help people in other situations,” says Lyn West, brand content manager at Ford of Europe.

“Making sure dogs and their owners could enjoy a stress-free New Year’s Eve seemed like the perfect application for our Active Noise Control system, and we have a few more ideas in progress as to how our every day lives might benefit from a little Ford know-how.”

Although this is just a prototype, it is the first in a series of initiatives, called Interventions, that explore how Ford’s automotive technology can be used in everyday products.
