Bride Did A ‘First Look’ Photoshoot With Her Dog And The Photos Went Viral

Wedding photographers usually see it all. They’re there with you every step of the way on one of your most momentous days, capturing it all on film. And they get it all – good, bad, and everything in between.

Perri Farlow has been working as a photographer since 2008, so she thought she’d seen it all since a big chunk of her work involves weddings. As she was about to commence shooting for 24-year-old Kristen Dupree’s ceremony, the bride was overcome with jitters. In order to calm her down, Dupree asked the matron of honor to go get her dog, Zeke. The 2-year-old AKC black Labrador retriever had been hanging out with the groom and groomsmen for most of the day, but when Zeke and Dupree were together, the moment came together perfectly for a “first look.” Farlow managed to get the bond between Zeke and Dupree perfectly, and the results were stunning!

Farlow commented to Bored Panda, saying, “While it’s not uncommon for couples to bring their pets to engagement sessions, seeing them (pets) there on the wedding day doesn’t happen often. [When] Kristen requested doing the ‘first look’ with Zeke, I very excitedly agreed that it was such a cute idea!”

Farlow added, “I love when couples incorporate their pets into portrait sessions and weddings. Pets bring out such honest, authentic emotion from their owners, making it so easy to capture the genuine joy they feel when they’re with their beloved pets.”

And as it turns out, Zeke is just the right balance between playful and well-behaved so he was pretty easy to shoot.

“Kristen and Duncan brought Zeke to their engagement session as well. He loved playing around but when it was time to pose for photos, he was obedient and did a perfect job. He really is the best boy,” Farlow said.

The photographer revealed, “Zeke was such a calming presence for both Kristen and Duncan. They obviously love Zeke and he loves them back just as much.”

She said, “I think incorporating Zeke into their wedding was one of the most important things to Kristen and Duncan. Zeke even had a signature cocktail named after him served during the reception!”

And it is easy to see why Zeke is such an important part of the day. Zeke and Dupree have been inseparable since day one.
