Fedex Driver Found A Lost Dog And Made Sure She Made It Home Safely

FedEx drivers don’t always get the best rap for handling precious cargo – but in this case, one FedEx driver did.

When the Menzies family from Castle Pines, Colorado discovered that their 3-year-old golden retriever had gotten out, they naturally went into panic mode. Any of us would if we discovered that our dog had gotten loose. While the family felt fear and heartbreak over their dog, Catcher, they would soon be happy again. One FedEx driver found Catcher wandering about, and, in an act of kindness, returned him to them.

The whole event was caught on camera through the family’s Ring doorbell system. Naturally, there is a lot of praise and admiration for the delivery man who took time out of his schedule just to make sure that Catcher made it home safely.

As Liza Menzies explained, according to Fox Denver, “Our contractor left to go to lunch and shut the front door — and the wind blew the door open while I was gone, and Catcher escaped. She could have wandered out to a busy road and you hate to think what’s going to happen then.”

Not long after Catcher escaped, Menzies got a message from the FedEx driver telling her that he had Catcher and was bringing her back.

“He just said, ‘I found your dog, and the address on her tag is where I’m going to take her’ and then he put her in the house with such care,” Menzies said.

She added, “He interrupted his day and his package delivery schedule to pick her up and hand carry her into our home and lock the door behind him. I don’t want to think about where else she could have ended up. He is certainly our family’s hero.”

She hasn’t had a chance to thank the man in person yet, but Menzies is hoping for a chance to say thank you face to face soon.

“He left me a message on my phone when he put the dog in the house. Other than to thank him, via text, I don’t know him personally. So we haven’t seen him again yet,” Menzies said.

What a great delivery driver. That was so nice of him.
