Golden Retriever Meets Up With His Best Buddy For The First Time Since Lockdown Started

2020 has been nothing short of a dumpster fire of a year. Personally, I think the only thing that has kept my sanity together so far has been an endless supply of coffee and memes. We’ve all suffered losses this year – whether its family members, jobs, money, etc. The ongoing global pandemic has been a whole new experience for us. And it’s definitely not something any of us ever want to experience again. Perhaps one of the biggest things that the pandemic has affected, is our sense of normal. We have had to adjust to this new way of life that includes face masks, extra hand sanitizer, and social distancing.

Perhaps one of the hardest things we’ve had to face is keeping our distance from friends and family. Several friends of mine have had to postpone their weddings until next year. There have been plenty of canceled vacations – I got lucky that I took my trip to Malta a few weeks prior to the quarantine announcement in March. We’ve all have something that we miss from the days prior to the pandemic. Personally, I miss brunches.

But it’s not just humans who are feeling the sting of social distancing. It is also affecting our pets. While many of us are staying home more and working remotely, our dogs are still finding some upset with their daily routines. Those dogs who are normally sent off to doggie daycare or some other kind of care arrangement are most likely feeling a little isolated because of the quarantine. And because we’re having to stay away from people, things like doggie playdates aren’t as frequent as our pups would probably like.

But there was one Golden Retriever pup who got a wonderful surprise. Throughout the quarantine period, Kevin was kept away from his best friend. Knowing how sad he was by this, and not understanding that this new way of life was all down to a global pandemic, Kevin’s owner chose to do something sweet to surprise the pup.

And the special surprise that was planned was getting to see his BFF again! The whole heartwarming reunion was captured on camera, and it truly pulls at the heartstrings. As seen in the video, Kevin’s owner drives the pup over to the other dog’s house so that the two of them get to have a special playdate. The two dogs are beside themselves with glee when they see each other for the first time in a long time. Kevin rushes out of the car to greet his buddy and the two of them frolic and play as though no time had passed at all.
