Shiba Inu of the Well-Known “Doge” Meme Diagnosed with Two Scary Illnesses

Numerous internet-famous pets have touched lives and given happiness to people all over the world. Each of them has their own fandom and has accumulated millions of followers on different social media platforms. It’s kind of their pet parents to share the sunshine radiating from their beloved fur babies. Everyone needs a reason to smile whenever they scroll on social media. People could not stop sharing or hitting the like button, whether the content was a meme or an entertaining reel.

One of the dogs that made the internet so enjoyable is Kabosu, the Shiba Inu behind the popular “doge” meme and Dogecoin advertisement. You can’t deny the fact that Kabosu is easily recognized by anyone, mainly because of the facial expression that made her viral. It’s mostly used as a reaction meme which has quickly made people laugh. However, the dog who has spread happiness has reached an age where she is vulnerable to diseases. Kabosu’s fur mom, the one who shared the viral doge meme, recently shared an update about her health via Instagram. Atsuko Sato uploaded the post on Christmas day, which worried Kabosu’s followers.

“Kabosu’s disease names are acute cholangiohepatitis and chronic lymphoma leukemia,” Atsuko wrote. “Right now, the liver level is very bad and jaundice appears.” She also mentioned how the seventeen-year-old Shiba Inu lost her appetite, and it became difficult to give her some water. The anxious fur parent brought her to the hospital, where they were informed of her exact health condition. Kabosu’s liver, bile ducts, and gallbladder were inflamed but can be treated with antibiotics. It was also revealed that the dog could still have a healthy life despite leukemia that developed in her body.

Along with the health update, Atsuko reassured Kabosu’s followers that everything would be okay again. The Shiba Inu is still fighting, which signifies another miracle might happen. Thankfully, Kabosu is surrounded by a loving and warm family. Aside from Atsuko, she has her cat siblings to support her — making the illnesses a bit bearable for Kabosu. Moreover, frequent visits to the vet helped her recover and regain strength. Since then, Kabosu’s appetite is back again, and her digestion has been working well.

Hopefully, Kabosu can completely recover from her illnesses so she can still enjoy her senior years. Atsoku has thanked countless people who showed her dog support and showered Kabosu with love. Everyone is rooting for the good doge to live well. If you have been a fan of the remarkable Shiba Inu, you can follow her Instagram page to get some updates. I strive to learn and excel more in content creation, including blog writing, graphic design, social media posts, and video editing. Photography is one of those skills that I take an interest in. However, I do not use my photography skills for work as I treat the activity as my hobby. My usual subjects are my pets and loved ones. The lovely fur babies at home make photography even more fun, especially now that I am in a remote setup for work.
