He Had So Many Worms They Thought He Wasn’t Worth Saving, But Every Dog Is Worth SavingAshley Maisano
This cute pup, named Murphy, was pulled from the shelter before he would have been euthanized that same day. He had severe skin issues—a bad case of mange, which caused him to be very red and itchy and have a lot of hair loss.
After running some tests, they found that he had a variety of worms—hookworms, whipworms, demodex mites. The hookworms have also caused severe anemia. They gave him treatment and it was just a waiting game from that point on.
Three weeks later, his skin was looking much better and he was sent to live with a foster for the rest of his treatment. He was so happy and energetic and couldn’t stop wagging his tail.
