Animal Rescue Spent Thanksgiving Catering And Spoiling Dogs

Kindhearted people were greeted on Thanksgiving with wagging tails and joyful howls as they gave shelter dogs something to be thankful for.

Second Chance Rescue Dogs NYC did not take a break on Thanksgiving from caring for the dogs at their shelter and making sure they had a special day. Staff and volunteers walked and played with each dog. Then they were all treated to a special meal.

Even though the dogs did not have a home of their own – yet – they loved all the extra attention. The rescue posted, “It was a Happy Thanksgiving for our pups at the SCR rescue center. They all enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving Day meal, and had a lot of visitors and extra special playtime- thanks to the many amazing volunteers who came to spend time with them over this holiday weekend.”

Each dog received a special Thanksgiving meal that included all the fixings. Turkey, sweet potatoes, rice, carrots, and even a little gravy filled the bowls. The dogs devoured the food and were thankful for all the generous people in their lives. All they are missing is a family of their own.

If you are interested in adopting one of the adorable dogs, you can visit their website. They are always looking for volunteer that live in the area, so if you cannot adopt consider volunteering. The rescue thanked all the volunteers by posting, “A big thank you to everyone who donated to make Thanksgiving extra special for our pups waiting for forever homes.”
