They Pull 150 Crates Off Of A Plane. When I Heard The Reason Why, I Couldn’t Believe It!
“Dog Is My Copilot” is a nonprofit organization that flies abandoned animals to furever homes. It was started in 2012 by Peter Rork and Judy Zimet. They work together with a group of volunteers to fly animals from areas of the country where they are not wanted, to areas where they are in demand. The planes fly solely on public donations and they are based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
They fly many animals on one flight, and removed the seats in the plane to make more space for them. Their bigger plane fits 40-150 animals on each flight. They do their best to talk to the animals during the flight to keep them calm so they’re not nervous. Peter flies the plane while Judy works with rescue groups. Through this program, they have rescued over 3,000 animals!
