Abandoned Dog Survived The Cold And Had Her Puppies In A Snowdrift
A dog and her six puppies are incredibly lucky to be alive. This tiny family left the animal shelter staff astonished at how they all managed to survive in a snowdrift in northern Minnesota.
The dog, who has been appropriately renamed Snowbelle, was first discovered alongside her puppies by a concerned family. They immediately drove her and her babies over to Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue Shelter located on the south shore of Lower Red Lake.
The shelter wrote a post on Facebook explaining that the puppies were around 3-weeks-old when they were rescued.
They also added, “We have no idea how Snowbelle and her puppies survived.”
Something that we are also surprised but delighted by.”
When the family brought the canine family into the shelter, Snowbelle didn’t have any milk left to feed her pups who were very hungry.
Thankfully, the were all found in time and were able to make a strong recovery.
“After a few days of warm shelter and good food Snowbelle started producing lots of milk for her babies,” the shelter said.
They added, “This photo shows the great need for shelter and food in our very harsh winters.”
We are so glad that Snowbelle and her babies survived and have bright futures ahead for all of them.
