Dog Delivers Groceries To Neighbor With Health Problems While She Self-Isolates
In Colorado, there is a dog doing what they can to help while the coronavirus pandemic is ongoing. According to KKTV, the dog is now delivering groceries to his neighbor under quarantine.
The seven-year-old Golden retriever named Sunny lives with Karen Eveleth in Manitou Springs, Colorado. They have lived with Renate Hellman as a neighbor for more than 10 years, and now that she is on self-imposed quarantine because of her health, they thought of a unique way to help her with grocery deliveries.
“She got the list. She gave it to Sunny. Sunny brought it to me,” Eveleth said. “I went to the store, got her her groceries, and he delivered them all to her.”
Sunny has been going back and forth to Hellman’s house since the coronavirus outbreak began.
“What a wonderful thing, just a sweet thing,” Hellman said, according to KKTV. “So, he started doing the schlepping, back and forth. It’s been fun. It’s been a real treat.”
Hellman had been dealing with some underlying health issues and she needs oxygen to breathe. The visits and food from the dog make it easier to get through the day.

“Little things like Sunny coming over to visit is nice, and it makes you feel good. It’s a way of communicating,” she said.
Eveleth gets her mail from Sunny and when they go for walks, Sunny picks up some trash. She hopes that sharing the story will give people a well-needed smile.
“Anybody can do something small that can be so helpful,” Eveleth said.
