Stray Dog Comforts “Injured” Actor In The Middle Of A Street Performance
Dogs are such kind animals. And there was one stray on the streets of Turkey who proved that he was Man’s Best Friend, even though he wasn’t actually owned by the man that he tried to assist. In a very sweet gesture, this stray went up to a man on the ground out of concern that the man was injured. What the pup didn’t know, was the man was an actor and he was in the middle of a very lively street performance.
Numan Ertuğrul Uzunsoy was appearing in an outdoor theater show in Turkey, where his character had to portray an injury. This meant that Uzunsoy had to get on the ground and pretend to be hurt. The entire crowd watching his performance obviously knew that the man was faking his injury.
However, the four-legged bystander who was watching the street performance did not. For the dog, it was very much real. And in a very loving turn of events, the dog wandered forward into the play in order to make sure that Uzunsoy was okay.
Watch the moment below:
As Uzunsoy recalled for The Dodo, he was completely unaware that the dog was in the crowd. His character was supposed to be “in great pain” after a fall from a horse. His acting skills must have been top-notch since the dog believed that he was really injured.
For Uzunsoy’s scene, his co-stars took a few steps back in order to give him the floor. But it was the little dog that walked up through the crowd and went straight over to Uzunsoy on the ground.
The dog began to sniff around Uzunsoy’s head. And as the actor stated, “I felt warmth on my face. First, I thought my co-star was approaching me.”
But that was quickly dismissed the second that he felt a tongue start to lick him! The actor was surprised, but still very touched by this act of kindness from a street dog. As he stated, it was something very unexpected. The unscripted moment between the actor and the stray dog was definitely well-received by audiences who cheered at the tender moment.
Afterward, the other actors had to escort the dog off the stage and to the side with the rest of the crowd. Unfortunately, that meant that the dog wandered off and wasn’t seen again. Uzunsoy expressed, “The next day I went to the same place, looking for him. People told me he usually hangs out there. I went again today. I’ll look for him until I find him. I’ve always loved animals.”
Hopefully these two will find one another again.
