Dog Gets A Forever Home For Christmas After 500 Days In A Shelter

After spending 500 days at the Niagara SPCA in Niagara Falls, New York, the five-year-old pit bull mix named Bonita got the best Christmas present ever: she was adopted into her forever home.

Kimberly LaRussa, who works as the event coordinator at the Niagara SPCA, said to Fox 13, “Everybody loves her so much, and a lot of our employees are used to seeing her every day, so I know we are all going to miss her like crazy.”

LaRussa added, “She gets to be the lady of the house, which I’m sure is a dream come true for her.”

The video of Bonita leaving the Niagara SPCA is nothing short of heartwarming because you can see how impossible it is for her to contain her excitement.

Employees at the shelter threw Bonita a proper farewell by tossing glitter in the air for the happy dog.

Bonita’s new owner, Ray Kinz, has since started an Instagram page for the pit bull mix in order to keep fans up to date on how she’s settling in.
What an amazing ending for Bonita! We all hope she is very happy and loved in her new home for many years to come.
