It all started when this couple went to the shelter to adopt a dog. They saw a puppy who was without a name, cowering in the corner. The only “name” she had was “puppy number 6.” As soon as Brianna Madia saw him, she knew he was the one.

They adopted the puppy, now named Bucket, but this was only the beginning. She was the first dog they adopted, but she certainly wasn’t the last.

Brianna and her husband, Keith, went to get dog food, and the pet store was having an adoption event. That’s when they saw a dog pawing at his crate. They instantly fell in love with him, but they couldn’t adopt another dog because their lease didn’t allow it.

After holding him, they put him back in his crate and went home. But they couldn’t stop thinking about the dog. A month later, they went to visit the shelter, and that same dog was still there. Sadly, he had been adopted and returned three times.

Again, the couple returned home without the dog, but couldn’t stop thinking about him. That’s when they agreed that they had to rescue this dog. So, they went back and adopted him! The dog, now named Dagwood, is loving his new humans, but is one fresh pup.

Whenever the couple would leave the house, Dagwood would get into the garbage and destroy anything he could get his little paws on. He didn’t like being cooped up in the house, but soon after, they discovered something he really loved.

The Madia’s are big hikers and rock climbers, so they began taking their pups outdoors with them. That’s when they really saw Dagwood come to life. The couple then decided to make a drastic change and leave everything behind…
