How To Make Healthy Homemade Dog Food With Your Crockpot

Who doesn’t love their crockpot? Personally, I use mine at least twice a week, more in the wintertime because it’s so great for soups and stews and curries. It truly is a versatile item to have in the kitchen. And now, as we’re finding out, its convenience doesn’t just apply to human food anymore.

You can actually use your crockpot to create yummy and nutritious meals for your dogs!

If you have a crockpot and are looking for something to do, such as supplement your dog’s diet with more natural food that isn’t necessarily fully raw, then you can try your hand at making all-natural dog food.

Plus, we have no doubts that your dog will absolutely love this over their regular food.

The wonderful thing is that it can be easily prepared and doesn’t require a lot of effort. In fact, it only takes about 10 minutes of prepping, and about 4-6 hours of cooking in the crockpot. Super simple!

The ingredients:
– 3 lbs lean ground chicken
– 1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
– 1 cup of green beans
– 1 cup butternut squash
– 1 cup peas
– 15 oz can kidney beans
– 1 cup carrots
– 4 cups of water

The directions:
After you chop up some of the veggies, you just place the ground chicken, chopped carrots, kidney beans, green beans, butternut squash, peas, rice into the crockpot and add some water. Then, cook on high for 4 hours, or on low for 6 hours. After it’s finished, you can stir and serve. Just make sure it’s not too hot for your dog’s mouth.
