2020 ‘Clear The Shelters’ Helps Finding Loving Homes For Shelter Pets For The Entire Month Of August

Every year, NBC Universal and Telemundo Owned Stations’ Clear The Shelters campaign puts on a nationwide pet adoption drive to help thousands of shelter pets find loving homes. The stations team up with hundreds of animal shelters to run a month-long adoption campaign and have helped over 400,000 shelter pets find forever homes since the first event in 2015.

Dogs and cats, or any pet for that matter, enhance our lives in countless ways. Scientists have conducted studies that show that having a loyal four-legged companion reduces stress, helps us live longer, keeps us active, and brings a smile to our face when we need it most.

Not to mention, they show us how to love unconditionally and to live in the moment. Shelter pets are looking for a second chance and with the month-long adoption drive, Clear The Shelters, thousands will hopefully find theirs.

To make sure that potential adopters can view all the shelter pets while keeping the recommended social distance, Clear The Shelters 2020 event is offering virtual adoptions.

This year, The Animal Rescue Site is sponsoring the event along with WeRescue and 24PetWatch to help even more shelter pets find loving homes.

“As communities all across the country continue to practice social distancing, this year’s Clear The Shelters campaign will allow individuals to find their perfect pet through virtual platforms. Our partners WeRescue and 24PetWatch have great web and online tools that make it easy to find a pet and navigate the pet adoption process with shelters,” said Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations.

“If adopting a pet is not possible right now, our partners at GreaterGood.org (The Animal Rescue Site) have a great website where anyone can donate to shelters/rescues to help them continue their great work. We are excited for our NBC and Telemundo stations to present another memorable Clear The Shelters campaign this August.”
