Chris Evans Admits He Got An Instagram Account Cause He ‘Has So Many Good Pictures Of His Dog’
We all are guilty of taking loads of pictures of our pets. They probably see us as their own paparazzi. Additionally, some of us pet parents probably have even set up our pets with their own social media accounts in order to show off all the adorable pictures we’ve taken of them. And there is no better social media outlet than Instagram for showing off pet pictures – it’s basically an online photo album.
Well, joining the ranks of proud pet parents on social media is actor Chris Evans, who has admitted that his new Instagram account is mostly just for posting pictures of his dog, Dodger. And we are totally ok with that. Evans did admit that he first created his account earlier in the month as a means of partaking in Chris Pratt’s “#AllInChallenge” – a fundraiser for pandemic relief. As a result, Evan’s very first post was a video offer to fans to join him in a virtual meetup with him and some of his Avengers co-stars. However, since then, there has been a major shift in content since the rest of his posts have all been about his adorable dog. As he shared with Jimmy Fallon, Dodger is the main reason that his account still exists – and we are more than happy with that.
Evans told Fallon, “I guess I caved. I feel like such an old man; I feel so late to the party. You know what it is? I had too many good pictures of my dog. I was like, ‘They’re being wasted in my phone. I need to put these somewhere.”
During his chat with Fallon, Evans elaborated more about some of his posts – like the hilarious one when he tried to give Dodger a haircut while in quarantine. As we’ve all seen from his post, Dodger ended up with a rather scraggly-looking style – something Fallon referred to as “unfortunate.”
He explained, “I had done it once before, right when quarantine began. I gave him just a little bit of a trim…and it went great! And so I got a little confident and put on a shorter attachment, and it just exploded in my face, and I kept trying to fix it. Eventually, I was like, ‘Alright, I just gotta cut my losses.'”
When Fallon egged him on for advice on how to trim dog hair, Evans followed up with, “Here’s the deal…The first time I did it it was after a walk, so he was exhausted. He was straight and flat. You gotta go with the hair, don’t go against it. The next time I did it it was first thing in the morning, and he had a lot of energy, and as you’re bringing the clippers down he kept twisting his body and the skin would crunch up…He had no idea what was goin’ on. You’re trying to speak to him, and he doesn’t speak English.”
While Evans might not be so big into social media, we are glad that he’s making Dodger the focus of his new Instagram. I mean, who doesn’t love to see multiple pictures of a cute pup? Even if his coat is looking a little dodgy at the minute…
