Chick Rescued And Hatched From Supermarket Egg Gets A Second ChanceFamilyPet
You might not know, but sometimes grocery-bought eggs are fertilized. This means with the proper care, they can hatch into chicks. Albert was one of those chicks. The quail egg was bought by a man at the grocery store, taken home and incubated until he hatched. His human dad thought Albert needed friends, so he attempted to incubate more eggs.
When one began to hatch, the man immediately noticed something was odd. After the chick struggled for 30 hours, the man knew it needed help. He tells The Dodo, you should never help a chick hatch from an egg unless you are completely sure it is in distress. There is only a small window of time that it is OK for the egg to hatch. Hatching too early or late could be fatal for the chick.
He gently began to help crack the egg, taking his time. Once the chick was visible, it was too weak from struggling. So, the man continued to help the baby animal.
Finally, it made its debut into the world. Albert was finally able to meet his new friend!
Despite a rough hatching, the chick was completely healthy and was strong enough to join the other chicks the very next day. You can check out the egg-mazing hatching on the video below.
