Orphaned Dog Finds New Forever Home After Her Dad Passed Away From COVID-19
A couple of weeks ago, a little white dog named Che-Che found herself at a New Jersey shelter after she lost her human dad to COVID-19. Her sad story went viral and hundreds of people applied to adopt the sweet dog.
“Little 9-lb Che-Che was scared and shaking when she arrived – we can’t imagine what it’s like for a dog like her to suddenly lose everything she’s ever known and then end up in an unfamiliar place,” said Monmouth County SPCA. The staff comforted the frightened dog with lots of cuddles and promised to find her the perfect forever home.
Che-Che was given a warm bubble bath and received all the necessary vaccines and care she needed. Once she was ready for a new forever home, the staff took their time to read all the applications to find the best match.
“We knew that the only way to honor her family was to find her a place where she could live out the rest of her life living like the princess she is ❤,” posted the shelter.
A perfect match was found and Che-Che was given a proper farewell by the shelter. “We want to thank everyone who has supported Che-Che finding a new home! We’re happy to report she’s been adopted and is doing fantastic in her new home.”
Countless people donated to the shelter to help care for Che-Che and all the other homeless pets. The shelter thanked those who helped and said, “Che-Che is resting comfortably in a comfy bed, in a warm loving home because of your support, THANK YOU ❤️.”
“Unfortunately, Che-Che is the first of many animals that we anticipate needing a safe haven in these uncertain times,” wrote the shelter. They ask all those who applied to adopt Che-Che to consider adopting another homeless pet from their local shelter.
