Cat With Two-Toned Face Fathers Two Kittens In Each Of Its Colors

Narina is a feline that may appear to be a chimera cat, but nobody is really sure why he has the striking features of a two-tone face.

Now that he has become a father, two of the kittens are a chip off the old block, but they are chips off of different sides.

Narina lives in Britain with Stephanie Gimenez, his human. Many people think that he is a chimera cat, which according to National Geographic is “a cat whose cells contain two types of DNA, caused when two embryos fuse together.” It sometimes results in a two-tone face, such as what he has, but Gimenez told the Daily Mail that after DNA testing, they found out that he wasn’t a chimera.

“A geneticist performed tests and [found] Narnia has only one DNA … there remains a mystery for science,” she said.

“He also has beautiful blue eyes, which is very rare in a cat that is all black. Normally blue eyes are often found in white cats,” the owner added.

Nobody is sure what has caused Narnia’s unusual looks, but it seems as if he is passing them along. Recently, the three-year-old cat became father to two kittens, one gray and one black. Prada is all black, although she does have a little white on her chin. Phoenix, her brother, is completely gray. When you put them side-by-side with each other, it is a reflection of their father’s face! Interestingly, both cats have brown eyes, unlike their father, who has blue eyes.

The kittens got to spend a few months with their dad and now they are on their way to forever homes. It will be interesting to see what their kittens look like!
