Neglected Senior Dog With Cancer Finally Gets The Love And Care He Needs
By Andrea Powell
Dogs enhance our lives beyond measure and all they ask in return is to be loved and cared for until they cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Casper, a 9-year-old mutt, was surrendered by his owner to a California shelter in poor condition. He had multiple cancerous growths, a broken tooth, ear infection, and many other ailments causing him to be in pain. The shelter did not want him to suffer so they reached out to local rescues to see if anyone could help.

The shelter sent an email out to local rescues stating that the dog would be euthanized at noon the following day, to prevent any further suffering, if no one came forward to help.
At 11:30am, volunteers with Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue Group arrived to save him and immediately brought him to a vet. Most of the growths were removed, the broken tooth was extracted, and he was placed on multiple medications to help with infections.

The sweet boy was taken in by a foster family and put on a special diet to help him recover before he returned to the vet to have more growths removed. The vet bills were quickly adding up and the rescue needed help covering all the expenses. That is when GreaterGood and generous people like you stepped up to help. Thanks to your donations, Casper was able to receive the care he needed and deserved.

Casper got his groove back and ended up being a foster fail. Every day, he thanks his new mom by covering her in kisses. He enjoys short walks with his canine sister and loves every human he meets. His new family understands his medical needs and will shower him with love for the rest of his days.

The rescue group said, “Thank You for all your donations. Because of you, Casper got the treatment he needed to truly make his senior years golden!”
