10-Year-Old Boy Asks His Neighbors If He Could Be A Dog Sitter ‘After This Virus’
It always pays to be a nice person. An adorable 10-year-old boy sent his neighbors a hand-written note asking them if they needed someone to take care of their dog once in the pandemic had ended, and the results of the action were just heartwarming. The neighbor’s dog is a golden retriever called Arthur.
After receiving the sweet offer, Arthur’s owners shared a picture of the child’s letter on Arthur’s Instagram, writing, “I made friends with a small hooman today. He’s like basically me-sized. I bet I can get him to give me more treats than my hoomans.”
The genuinely wholesome letter was written in both red and blue ink. It stated, “Hello neighbors, my name is Troy, I’m in 4th grade and I’m just wondering if maybe after this virus you need a dog sitter and if so, I can take your dog on walks and more.”
Since posting, the photo has gained thousands of likes, as well as comments, since many people were curious to know if Arthur’s owners would be taking the boy, known as Troy, up on his offer once the pandemic ends.
In order to answer the many questions, Arthur’s account followed up with another picture, which was captioned, “Guess who’s meeting Troy today!!!!”
When people saw the updated post, the comments section was once again lit with many people posting their approval and joy at seeing these two finally get to meet.
Arthur kept his many followers in the loop. He explained that the two had arranged a socially distant meet up in order to still comply with lockdown measures.
Arthur wrote, “Just a quick pupdate – me and the smol neighbor had a really great (socially distant) playdate today. Because he’s so smol we didn’t take any pics just for privacy purposes but he told me all about his dog fren and even showed me some dance moves!! I have a feeling we’re gonna be best buds!!”
Even though there was no picture of the actual meeting, people were still so thrilled by the news.
Because of the viral nature of this post, Arthur’s Instagram has received tons of new followers, prompting him to post yet another follow up.
In a different post, he wrote, “Holy h*ck, y’all. Welcome to all my new frens!!!! To everybody new here, my name is Arthur and I’m the cutest floof on the block. My hoomans told me that me and my fren Troy broke the pupernet yesterday. I’m glad it brought me so many new frens!! Do any of you have treats to spare? 🥺 I celebrated my newfound celebrity status by trying to eat a dead baby bird because I gotta keep my hoomans humble.”
And thus begins another beautiful friendship between a boy and a dog. We can’t wait for these two to be able to meet normally again!
