One Canadian shop is filling its shelves with books and kittens – and the best part is, the kittens are adoptable!

Otis & Clementine’s Books & Coffee, located in Nova Scotia, has created the perfect business. They are providing their customers with the perfect location where you can read your favorite novels while petting little kittens. And if you fall in love with one of them, you can adopt them!

The kittens come from the South Paw Conservation Nova Scotia rescue group. They are hopeful that the customers at Otis & Clementine customers will fall in love with their adorable little faces and provide them with a forever home. In addition, the partnership between the rescue and the bookstore allows the tiny felines to become socialized and become used to being around humans.

Ellen Helmke, the store’s owner, made the choice to set up the adoption program after she realized that there was space in her store to do a little good – in other words, help cats in need.

Since she started the program, more than 30 cats have found their forever homes through the bookstore.

Speaking with Global News, Ellen explained that customers are brought to her store for many different reasons, however, they all tend to find what they want.

As she said, “People come here specifically to see the cats, and then some people just wander in to look at books and discover there are kittens. Either way, the response has been really great — I mean, who doesn’t love kittens, right?”

As Bored Panda was informed by a spokesperson for South Paw Conservation, the bookshop is “one of many loving foster homes that provide an enriching environment for [its] kittens and cats.”

The spokesperson further added, “[We’re] really hoping the platform of attention we receive from Otis & Clementine’s will help us to find loving homes, provide proper medical care, food and litter through donations and spay/neuter even more kitties within the province in 2020.”

Incredibly, each cat that has come through Otis & Clementine’s Books & Coffee has been adopted – proving that cats and books are the perfect combination.

Ellen stated, “We have 100% adoption rate, which is fantastic. I’m so happy to make my customers happy when they come in and they’re just thrilled to see a kitten they weren’t expecting… It’s amazing and makes me happy to come to work.”

So, if you are a big fan of both books and cats, Otis & Clementine’s Books & Coffee is definitely the perfect destination for you.
