Actor Adopts Two Bonded Pit Bulls After Seeing Desperate Plea From Animal Shelter Volunteers

Dogs should be viewed as members of the family, but many are dumped at shelters when people decide to have a baby. Due to no fault of their own, they are uprooted from everything they know and love and left to wonder what they did wrong.

Hillsborough County Animal Shelter in Tampa, Florida, received two owner surrendered pit bulls named Maggie and Ollie. The pair lived together for six years and then suddenly were brought to the shelter and housed in separate kennels, all because their previous owners had a baby.

Followers of the shelter sent out a desperate plea asking for someone to please step up and adopt both of them. “Maggie and Ollie came in a week ago as OWNER SURRENDERS due to NEW BABY.” The post went on to say, “Please consider these 2 together. They just lost everything they knew and loved. Although not kenneled together or listed as bonded they have lived together since they were pups so that in our opinion is BONDED!!”

“Guardians of the Galaxy” actor Dave Bautista saw the shelter’s post and reached out to inquire about the two dogs. The shelter stated that the dogs needed a home without cats, but both were housebroken and loved to play.

Bautista adopted both Maggie and Ollie a week later. The pups will never be separated again and will never want for anything. They are being spoiled with Tempur-Pedic dog beds, a large gated property and doggy doors everywhere.

Their new dad said, “They’ll never be separated. They’ll always be loved and cared for.” He went on to say in a post, “I needed them, they needed me. These beautiful babies spent the first six years of their lives neglected and abused. And now they are going to spend the rest of their lives being spoiled and loved.”

Please consider adopting a bonded pair of dogs or cats. Adopt don’t shop!
