One Zoo Is Celebrating The Birth Of 7 Animals From A Critically Endangered Species
The United Kingdom’s Chester Zoo is full celebration mode after zookeepers welcomed some exciting additions to the animals. In June, seven northern bald ibises were born. Though these birds may look small and insignificant, but their births were one of the most invigorating events in the animal community.
This specific species is critically endangered and is facing imminent extinction if recent conservation efforts do not succeed. These new additions are part of a breeding program that strives to introduce the birds to a safe environment in Spain. With the great news of these births, experts hope that in a few years the northern bald ibises could repopulate Europe.
For now, these tiny birds are entertaining visitors of the Chester Zoo and enjoying the celebration of their lives. If all goes well, we could one day be welcoming their children into the world as well. The video below was made to raise awareness for this species and the work of the Chester Zoo.
