Let Your Dog Try This: Bacon Crazy Sugar DelightsFamilyPet
Below is a picture of dog treats. These are treats that you’ll find at a store which means they are most likely filled with things that are not so good for your dog. They might look good and be in pretty colors and fun shapes; but don’t let that fool you! These ‘treats’ could contain things like Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA), Food Dyes, Corn and Wheat GLuten, Meat Meals and many other GROSS things. What are all of those things, you ask? They’re all chemicals and preservatives that you would never want to ingest!
So, what is good for your dog? What can your dog actually eat? Well, home-made treats are always a fun, and easy way to ensure that you know what your dog is ingesting! With homemade treats, you choose the ingredients and you can tailor each treat with love and tasty goodness that even you might be willing to eat! Yesterday, we made a recipe that you could actually eat yourself!
We took a classic sugar cookie recipe, cut out all of the ‘bad’ ingredients for your furbaby, added in some fur-friendly ingredients and quicker than a tail-wag we had Bacon Crazy Sugar Delights! See the recipe and directions below for some delicious goodness!
To make the bacon sugar cookies for your dog, you will need:
-1 cup butter
-1 1/4 cups white sugar
-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon baking soda
-A lot of bacon bits
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
Mix the butter, sugar and egg until the dough is light and fluffy. Then stir in the vanilla extract. Mix the flour and baking soda together and then add it into the butter mixture. Then add in the most important ingredient of them all, the bacon! Mix until all of the ingredients are combined well. Bake spoon-sized drop cookies (or however large or small you prefer) on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool. Finally, give your pups a taste and see how they like it!
